Khachmaz 330kV Power Transmission and Distribution was to construct a new transformer substation of 330/110/10kv and relevant line of 330kv and 110kv. This project, located 250 km away from Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, met on one hand the domestic power request, and on the other hand exported power to its neighboring countries.

This was the first Chinese project on the power market of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan government and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Azerbaijan attached a great importance to this project. It requested high techniques and the time limited was rather short, however, the execution was going on smoothly. The successful signature symbolized that CNEEC made a breakthrough in developing and executing independently transmission and distribution project. Azerbaijan owner signed the certificate for final completion on Dec. 16, 2008.
